Shell Island – This is a park, an undeveloped barrier island stretching 7 miles. No restaurant, hotels, etc. Just a natural beautiful beach. Take the Shell Island Shuttle Shell Island Shuttle Link or rent a Pontoon boat. Pack a cooler, rods, and towels, and enjoy a relaxing day at Shell Island. No boating experience needed. Take snorkel gear and enjoy looking for sand-dollars, scallops, urchins, shells... no telling what you will find. For the best boats call Lagoon Pontoon (below)

Water Park – Shipwreck Island Water Park is a 10-minute walk. West on Front Beach Rd, then right on Alf Coleman and it’s right there on the left. It’s really a load of fun. Check it out here: Water Park Link Buy tickets online to avoid the lines. Bring some cash for lockers. Usually open weekends starting May, then all of June and July and weekends August and early September.

Vortex Spring - Super fun freshwater spring about an hour away. Lots of divers here. There is sailboat at the bottom and a cool box where you can go in, remove your regulator and talk to your dive buddy! Rope swing, slide, etc. 850-836-4979. Vortex Spring link

Scuba Diving - Dive Locker is great. Got my son certified here in 2022. There are a ton of wreck dives in the area including many old naval vessels intentionally sunk to serves as artificial reefs and dive sites. 850-230-8006. Dive Shop Link

If you are wanting to see some sights, check out St. Andrews, about 20 miles away. Food and shopping are great. Quaint historic town and not full of tourists. Quaint Town Link Eat at Shrimp Boat or Uncle Ernie’s for an upscale meal, overlooking the water!

Pier Park – Definitely check it out for shopping and entertainment! Lots of great stores and restaurants. 16 screen Imax movie theatre, Mirror Maze & Laser Tag, and Dave & Busters (Great place to watch a game, have a beer while the kids have fun). Pier Park Link

Seaside - 25 miles to the west is the iconic master-planned community of Seaside. The is where the Truman Show was filmed. Go to the town square for great shopping, grab lunch from a food cart, and eat it in the square! Seaside Link
